Terms of Service

Effective date: August 19, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Checkpoint (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1) Who we are

Checkpoint is operated by the Checkpoint team (“we”, “us”). Support contact: mike@mooseplanetadventureracing.com.

2) Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

3) Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for activities under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information where required for account functionality (for example: an email address for sign-in and support).
  • You may not use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.

4) Community content

The Service may allow you to create, upload, post, share, or otherwise submit content (for example: reviews, forum posts, checklists, messages, photos) (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a license to host, store, reproduce, and display it as needed to operate and improve the Service.

5) Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse others
  • Post unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or exploitative content
  • Post private personal information of others (doxxing)
  • Spam, scam, or attempt to manipulate community features
  • Attempt to access accounts or systems you are not authorized to access
  • Interfere with the Service’s integrity or performance

6) Moderation and enforcement

We may (but are not obligated to) monitor, moderate, or remove content. We may take action we deem appropriate, including removing content, limiting visibility, suspending features, or disabling accounts for violations of these Terms or for safety reasons.

Users can report (“flag”) content for review. Moderation decisions are made based on context and safety/quality goals for the community.

7) Safety and disclaimers (Adventure racing / orienteering)

Adventure racing and navigation sports carry inherent risks. The Service may contain user-submitted tips, gear notes, and opinions. We do not provide medical, safety, or professional advice. You are responsible for your own decisions, preparation, and safety. Always follow official race rules, local laws, and real-world safety practices.

8) Third-party services

The Service may rely on third-party services (for example: authentication, hosting, mapping, or link handling). Your use of third-party services may be subject to their terms and policies.

9) Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, or caused harm.

10) Account deletion

You can delete your account:

  • In the app: Go to Profile → Account deletion and follow the prompts.
  • By email: Send a request to mike@mooseplanetadventureracing.com from the email address associated with your account.

11) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.

12) Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms over time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice in-app or on the website. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
